Sierra Club President and Omaha native Lisa Renstrom will appear at two venues in Omaha in March. On March 8, she will speak at the University of Nebraska at Omaha at a forum for Environmental Studies and Business students. This will be a free evening event hosted by the University and open to the public. It is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the auditorium at the Eppley Administration Building on the UNO campus, 6001 Dodge Street.

The next evening, Thursday, March 9, Renstrom will present her thoughts on the roots of Nebraska 's conservation ethic and its future in building a sustainable energy vision. The venue for this event will be a dinner hosted by the Nebraska Chapter of the Sierra Club and will take place at the Tip-Top Building, 1502 Cuming Street in Omaha . The building formerly housed the factory of Renstrom's father. It produced hair products like the Tip-Top curler. Last year the building was redeveloped into condominiums, apartments, banquet and entertainment facilities. We are looking forward to using this event to show off this fine example of urban renewal in Omaha.

In addition to Sierra Club members, the Club has invited state and local politicians, community and business leaders, and leaders from other environmental groups. The reception begins at 6:00 pm followed by dinner at 7:00 pm.

The sit-down dinner will be provided by the Forte Banquet and Conference Center prepared by their renowned chefs at their on-site kitchen. Cost is $50 per person, or you can be a Sponsor by buying a table of eight for $650. To make reservations, please select your dinner preferenece from the menu, then mail in the reservation form.
